Whole Doods reportedly led workers to minimize increasingly empty alleys after an internet attack on its mutilated distributor gives and sent strict effects through the retail chain of feet.
The Amazon Supermarket Chain posted unclear announcements of the “temporary challenges of supply” as irritated customers were greedy with bare shelves in several places, according to Techcrunch.
In an interior itself taken from the outlet, Whole Foods told employees that Internet attack on United Natural Foods Inc. (UNFI) is “its ability to choose and send products from their warehouses”.
“This will affect our normal distribution schedules and product availability,” he himself added.
The majority -based majority in Rhode Island, which supplies more than 30,000 stores, including Whole Foods, reported a “online security incident” last week that forced him to get critical outline systems, stopping operations and delaying food deliveries and other supermarkets across Canada.

Food chains dependent on the massive UNFI distribution network are being forced to improvise. In New York City, Morton Williams has already begun to look for alternative sources for products such as dairy, frozen foods and bottle drinks.

Attack on the UNFI is the last in a series of online incidents aimed at the main consumer enterprises. Last month, Victoria’s Secret was forced to get her offline website and delay the report of its profits after a similar violation.
“What we are seeing with UNFI and, last week, with Victoria’s Secret, reflects a growing trend: Threat actors are aiming for critical infrastructure and high -traffic consumers platforms for maximum interruptions and financial levers,” Techcrunch Adrianus told.
The UNFI has not revealed the identity of the attackers or their demands, if any. CEO Sandy Douglas told investors that the violation was discovered on Friday and that the systems were intended to be closed as a precaution. But employees say the road to healing can be long.
“It’s a mystery so far what will happen and how long will it happen until things are back to normal,” wrote a Reddit user who claims to work for UNFI. “Even when they can start returning to the right track, it will have to be done in stages.”
The UNFI, who reported $ 8.1 billion in quarterly sale for the period ending May 3, saw its shares falling 8.5% after news of violations – a sign of investors concern over the rate and duration of the outage.
Time couldn’t be worse. With the still fragile supply chains after years of strain associated with pandemia, internet attacks has exposed weaknesses to the logistical spine of the food industry.
For many retailers, the UNFI is a critical link between manufacturers and store shelves – and there is no quick substitute.
