Assets listed for $ 3.48 million were once to Led Zeppelin’s leading singer – and once entertained a king

There is no ladder in Paradise in this wealth of the Welsh country – but of course it has a left -hand look.

The former house of Led Zeppelin singer Robert Plant, now 76, is on sale for $ 3.48 million in the small rural village of Penalt, located in Southeast Wales, according to a release from the list.

The plant owned this seven -bedroom settlement for about five years in the 1980s, after the dissolution of LED Zeppelin. But the Victorian house covered with ivy was historic long before the legendary rockker received the residence.

The house is called ‘the meaning of’ wood ‘, in Welm. It is a prominent settlement in the Verdant Wye valley in the Southeast Welsh of the 16th century, though the current repetition dates from the 1860s.

It once received a visit from King Charles I, according to the list, and it has been rumored that the playwright Geroge Bernard Shaw wrote “Man of Fate” and “The Profession of Mrs. Warren” while it was a guest there.

The three-storey stone flat includes 9,321 square meters and boasts five waiting rooms. The large primary suite extends across the southeast side of the house. One of the six rooms of the guests contains wooden flooring up to the ceiling in Jacobean style.

The current owners renovated the home band windows and moved the kitchen room and breakfast to the heart of the house, in the order.

Argoed decreases to 10.9 hectares, which include a greenhouse, a Japanese garden, an arboretum and a stable “monumental” block.

Plant received residence in the country house in 1985 – in the same year Zeppelin was reunited for a live aid show in Philadelphia.

The Band Hard Rock achieved international fame in the 1970s, but came to an unexpected ending with the death of batteryist John Bonham in 1980.

The group was re -reunited in 1988 for the 40th anniversary of the Atlantic Records, but Plant spent most of its mandate in Argoed as a solo artist.

Agent Robin Engley with Knight Frank holds $ 3.48.
