This house can talk to you.
In Brooklyn’s coveted park, a city historic home in 38 Garfield Place has emerged from a meticulous renovation to market for $ 6.25 million. And comes with a true crowd story.
The five-storey settlement was once home to the infamous gangster to capture in his new years, the post has learned.
Capone, born in Brooklyn in 1899, moved to this apartment with his family in the 1880s when he was 11 years old, remaining there until the early 20s.
“He was born on the Navy Street and then the family needed more space,” Nadia Bartolucci from Douglas Elliman said. “So they then moved to the slope park … and the family owned the house for decades.”
The next crime lord, later called “Public Enemik No. 1”, lived here until 1919, when he moved to Agoikago – where he builds a criminal empire through bootlegging, prostitution and gambling.
Pensed on tax evasion in 1931, Capone suffered eight years in prison and died in 1947 at the age of 48.
The property, redeveloped by Minerva, a real estate development firm, underwent a dramatic transformation from what Bartolucci described as a “uninhabited” state in a masterpiece of 4,000 plus-plus-wearing.
The Capone family’s mandate at 38 Garfield Place was followed by a single owner until Minerva bought it in February 2024.
“When the house was won, it required a complete remodeling, a complete renovation,” Bartolucci told the post. “They made a full giving away and turned it into a thin city … Triple-Minint Townhouse and is beautiful.”
The developed preserved the historic front of the brick of the house while expanding its footprint and included premium materials.
Reiminished Townhouse now boasts four bedrooms, five full baths, three dust rooms and one basement finished on five floors.
Sun’s rooms and excess windows determine the interior, with high -level finishes such as Italian marble, works of mills and retail tiles of Carrara marble that raise any space.
The chef’s kitchen contains a golden calculus countertop island and high-level accessories, including a sub-zero refrigerator and Bosch microwave. An official dining area flows into the kitchen.
The garden level includes an excellent room with open concept with double -height ceilings, a wet bar and access to an outdoor Spanish courtyard. A comprehensive home office and recreation room – suitable for a gym, a music studio or a wine basement – add functionality.
Above, the main suite boasts a private terrace, a spacious dressing room and a bathroom similar to the bathroom containing double rain showers, a soaked tub and Calacatta viola marble mosaics.
The fourth floor houses two secondary bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom while the latter floor offers a bedroom, a full bathroom and a sun with a window and terrace boasting of prospect park and lower Manhattan.
Bartolucci also represented the close place 21 Garfield – once at home for Capone’s extended family – when ranked in 2020.
