Sam Altman’s Openai is reported to have considered the purchase of a start -out of former Apple Jony Ive’s teacher for at least $ 500 million.
The best Ive known for working with the late Apple Steve Jobs co-founder in many of the most iconic models of company products, including the iPhone-has collaborated with Altman for developing a hardware device for starting, known as something products since 2023.
Now, the chatgpt manufacturer has been discussed about the firm’s “full purchase”, among other options, reported information on Monday, citing sources with direct knowledge of the talks.
If a deal was to move forward, Openai – which recently secured $ 40 billion in new funding with a $ 300 billion rating – would also integrate the design team working on the device, the report added.

San Francisco-based IO products dumped a pair of main directors of the formerpple: Tang Tan, who led the teams responsible for the design of iPhone and Apple Watch, and Evans Hankey, who took over as Apple’s best designer before leaving in 2023.
