An agricultural family in the new rural south Welsh has given Australia a rare look inside their unique 10-storey home after a video of the high-raised passer went viral.
The surprised stranger, who captured the footage from the main road, asked if they had just seen an apartment building in the shrub. The clip drew over a million views and the attention of the family that actually lives there.
The â € œGirvan towerâ € on girvan estate is believed to be the tallst privately residency in the country and was budild for the latter gay over years in the 1990s.
Andrea and Andrew Evans bought the property for $ 779,204 in 2012, which is reported to be significantly less than the cost of the house to build.
The family now directs the wide permaculture of the harvest-a fully self-sustainable forest of food and 400 acres-or orchards.
James Evans, 21, told news.com.Au they wanted to show their 10-storey house in their social media because they wanted to keep their foot in the culture, but when a video of the stranger went viral, they changed their minds.
â € œ everything was saying that hotel and that and this, so [I thought] I can also clarify the facts, – James said.
Another reason Evansâ was reluctant to make a full home tour was previously to avoid people to assume that a 10-storey house meant that the family was sitting behind and living a luxury life.
“We are nothing ornate. I drive an old hilux and even if I had money to buy a lamborghini, I wouldn’t spend it, I would spend it on something that is useful to the community and all of us because that is what we believe, James said.
The ground floor has the original red carpet, chandelier and pool, while the first floor, which is also treated as a level of € œTorage, â € has several fitness equipment and what was an outdoor tennis field.
The third floor is the living area and the bedroom of Jamesâ, and the fourth floor is his younger brother Drew and his groom’s space. Both James and Drew are rebuilding their levels.
The fifth floor is where the family is located a kitchen, the sixth floor has a room and a living room, and the preservation of food, and the seventh floor is the parents’ room. The eighth level is the office and the ninth level (or the tenth story) is the roof with a deck â € œObservation.
There are extraordinary views of the surrounding agricultural land, up to Newcastle and the ocean on the horizon.
While the 10-storey building is not apartments like many assumptions, the second flower has recently been renovated with the intention of ranking as a short-term holiday lease in Airbnb soon.
The widespread business of harvesting is not new to tourism. The family offers tours paid to visitors, including run -run walks and tastes through â € œfood forestâ € and a farm meal at the table. They also run workshops involving the construction of bird houses, fungal cultivation, and learning the technique of swale construction permits in the contour.
But they are willing to expand their offer by opening a flower in their home in Gujore, building two extra small houses for accommodation, and starting knights with buggy and horse
James said the best part about the unusual home was to get their space, give family work and live together.
“My father is 60 and he works his butt. I try to make him go on vacation and he refuses. He’s like me, a house at home,” James said.
“I think I left this 20-minute area once in the last four months and that was yesterday.â € €
James says it is not the 10-storey house but their 24-mile food forest deserves Hype. There are jack fruits, larger trees fruits and 15 different types of mango.
â € œTead from her [the forest] By producing inedible plants, all its edible plants. Something something that does not need the human hand. It was basically Eden’s garden or Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory because everything is edible you see around you, ”he said.
â € œ Some things definitely have to be cooked as elders and such things, but it is created to be a living garden that takes care of himself.
â € œ we leave the lower third of the fruit in the trees fall, we get the middle third, and the third high goes to animals and birds.
Those animals are pigs, chickens and ducks. The family also destroys their property of wood on property.
James plans to one day take over the farm and business, and never leave.
“I don’t just want my kids here and my brother’s kids here, I want my great grandchildren and grandchildren, all the kids here and build a future generation of sustainability,” he said.
The full home tour is available in the wide channel of harvesting permaculture.
