Are your Levi’s worth $33,000? The details hidden in the jeans show whether they are worth a fortune

You could be sitting on a trendy estate.

Levi’s owners are checking the labels on their jeans after it was discovered that some of the company’s vintage clothing is worth $33,000.

Jeans produced by the brand between 1949 and 1954 are selling for astronomical sums online, and there’s an easy way to get denim.

Although Levi’s does not stamp a production year on their jeans anywhere, the trademark red tag can indicate the period in which they were made.

Between the 1950s and 1980s, Levi’s, officially known as Levi Strauss & Co., used its “Big E” logo to emphasize the word Levi’s, which is written in large white letters on a red background.

During a brief period from 1949 to 1954, the font is sharp and italic – and these are jeans that sell for a pretty penny.

The Levi’s website even has a special section so you can check if you’re literally sitting on cash.

Brand experts suggest inspecting your denim for the following:

• Check if the word LEVI’S® is in all caps or if there is a small letter “e” instead, because the Tab with LEVI’S (also known as the “Big E”) means that the jeans are before 1971.
• Look for care tabs, which were introduced to Levi’s clothing in the 1970s.
• Examine the inseams to check if there is a single seam on the inside of the thigh, this means the jeans were made before the mid-1980s.

Meanwhile, the Post previously reported a pair of well-worn 19th-century Levi’s jeans sold at auction for $76,000.

Kyle Hauper, a vintage clothing collector from San Diego, discovered the denim pants inside an abandoned mine shaft. The jeans, which featured racist labels, are believed to be one of the oldest known Levi’s from that era.

The label printed on the inside of the pocket declares: “The only kind made by White Labor” – a racially charged slogan used by the company during a time of widespread anti-Chinese discrimination in the US, Â Wall Street Journal. reported.

Despite the denim brand’s past, it continues to remain a staple in fashion culture. Recently, sales have increased due to western wear and the popularity of jeans.

In April, Levi’s shares rose as much as 18%, Bloomberg reports. Virinas saw an uptick in numbers, with sales up 20% over the past three years, CNN reported.
