Bonnie Blue is currently one of the most talked about women in the world.
After her viral spring break stunt, where she filmed herself being bedded by 150 “barely legal” students in Mexico last year for her adult subscription account, she made headlines around the globe.
Now, Australia has canceled the British native’s visa after she sparked another firestorm of controversy for announcing her intention to do the same during Australia Schools week in Queensland.
Despite the visa ban, Blue said today that he still has his heart set on attending the year-end celebrations.
She told news.com.au that “as a law abiding person” she disagrees with the decision but will “respect and respect” all Australian laws as she has always said she would.
Right now, she is working on an appeal which means she hopes the decision can be overturned.
Her visa was canceled last week amid allegations that Blue intended to contest her 12-month visa by working in Australia. She says it had nothing to do with her Schoolies stunt.
Blue’s unapologetic and sex-positive nature might lead people to believe that she was always in the limelight, but her “simple” middle-class upbringing suggests otherwise.
Raised alongside her sister by parents who remain happily married, she described her upbringing as “pretty normal”.
“I’ve had a very average life, really,” Blue told news.com.au.
“I didn’t go to private school and my parents had money, but nothing crazy. We’d go on one holiday a year, and if we needed kitchen work or something, we’d have to save or cut our holidays that year.”
As a child growing up in a small Derbyshire village in the UK, she wasn’t sure what career path she wanted to follow, but liked the sound of a midwife or a detective.
Her schooling journey saw her attend sixth form, the equivalent of year 12, but left her three months into her A-levels.
She then began working at the Pound Stretcher, a store similar to a dollar store, while also learning dance and completing a recruiting internship.
After working for some time in a soul-sucking office job, she grew tired of the daily routine and sought a more fulfilling life.
Accompanied by her then-husband – whom she met at the age of 14 and later married in February 2022 – Blue moved to the Gold Coast.
“I’ve always wanted to live in the sun and have a better work-life balance because in the UK I felt like I was wasting my life,” she said.
She took two years off work, and after burning through her savings, she realized that returning to a corporate environment filled her with dread.
“I wanted more out of my life,” she explained. “And like any girl, I spent a lot of time on social media and noticed a lot of people recommending cams. They said they were making anywhere from $100 to $4000-5000.
“In my eyes, I thought this would be a good opportunity to work from home, choose my own hours, be independent and have some freedom.”
Her husband, who worked in real estate at the time, was comfortable with the idea and even supported it.
“He thought it was a great idea, which really gave me the confidence to pursue it,” she said.
Entering the adult industry while in a relationship
At first, the gig was just for the money, “not for fun,” so she didn’t feel like she was cheating or doing anything wrong.
“It was just so I could support our future and what we wanted to do long term,” she said.
“I quickly got hooked on the cameras and was working 12-16 hour days because the longer you’re at it, the more you can see the money add up. I would literally be in it non-stop.”
The required hours prompted him to create an OnlyFans account, which allowed him to earn money in his sleep.
“If I wanted to go away for the weekend and not be on camera, my money would drop. So I made some solo videos and I thought, well, at least people can buy it when I’m not online.”
The breakdown of her marriage
Despite public speculation, Blue made it clear that the end of her marriage was not due to her controversial career choice.
“We were starting to get ahead of (work on the subscription website). As much as people think it had to do with it, it was very separate,” she said.
“My relationship broke up without a dramatic ending… no one cheated, we absolutely adored each other. I just think that when a lot of couples are together for a long time, you get comfortable or you just settle.
“I thought I could be happier if I was alone or potentially with someone else in the future. A lot of couples stay together because it’s the easiest way, which is fine, but I think more people in relationships need to be selfish.”
Their unconventional friendship
Even after their relationship ended, their bond remained strong.
Today, Blue’s ex is not only extremely proud of her, but he even plays an integral role in her business as her manager.
“He works for me now and goes over my team to make sure I’m achieving my goals both at work and in my personal life,” she said.
Bonnie’s dating life after marriage
Blue’s life after marriage has had its ups and downs and is now practically “non-existent”.
“I dated earlier this year, however, the guy I was dating told me that if I went on Spring Break then it would be canceled,” she said.
“Spring break and this job have always been a priority, so that went out the window quickly.”
Her line of work has also seen her banned from most dating apps as people would recognize her and try to talk to her about her work, which is not allowed on those platforms.
Supporting her family is one of her top priorities
One of Blue’s biggest motivators through it all has been her family.
At first, their support was not her main consideration, as she did not realize her earning potential.
But as her subscriber count grew, she made sure they were well taken care of, especially now more than ever because of the hate they’re getting.
“People think my family is only supportive because I give them money, but that’s not the case,” she explained.
“But mentally for me, it allows it to be a lot better because they’re able to be financially free because of my job, which allows them to take the hate a little bit better.
“They have received death threats and the media outside their homes and workplaces.”
What’s on the horizon for Bonnie Blue?
As for her plans for next year, Blue said she’ll do everything she’s done this year, only “bigger and better.”
Plus, “People will definitely be seeing a lot of me on their TV screens next year!”
